The PRPP Assessment (PRPP-A) is part of the PRPP System of Task Analysis:  Assessment and Intervention  (PRPP System).  The PRPP-A is a standardised, criterion referenced, authentic assessment of occupational performance that is not limited by diagnosis.  It is used cross culturally with people of any age whose occupational performance is compromised by the difficulties with the cognitive demands of tasks, routines and contexts.  The Assessment yields information about occupational performance mastery and cognitive strategy use during performance.  Strategy use behaviors align with dimensions of attention and perception (P), learning, memory and recall (R), planning, decision-making and judgment (P), and follow through with actions (P).  The PRPP-A is used internationally and has been translated into several languages.  It has established validity in a variety of practice domains including neurology, mental health, learning disabilities, autism, chronic pain, HIV-associated neurocognitive disorders, and dementia, and with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.  Acceptable reliability has been demonstrated following training.

OBJECTIVES:

1. Describe the structure of the PRPP-A, the occupational therapy and neurosciences foundation of the tool and its psychometric properties.

2. Assess and score PRPP-A Stage One task performance mastery from videotaped examples of people who have difficulty.

3. Assess and score PRPP-A Stage Two PRPP cognitive strategy use behaviours impacting Stage One mastery from videotaped examples of people who have difficulty.

4. Write specific, measurable occupational performance mastery and strategy use goals from PRPP-A findings, and describe the implications for intervention.
