Judy Ranka is an academic in the discipline of Occupational Therapy at the University of Sydney in Australia. She has a long history as an educator of occupational therapy students at undergraduate and post graduate levels both in formal degree programs and through continuing professional education on a local, national and international scale. Judy is invited to address therapists and disseminate her work through key note addresses at professional conferences and symposia in Australia and elsewhere. Judy’s research includes occupational therapy theory development, ecological assessment of cognition in adults with neurological disorders, effects of orthotic intervention on hand function and the immediate effects of physical guidance techniques on arm use. She is currently completing doctoral studies focused on investigating the effects of information processing disorders on every day task performance in men with HIV/AIDS dementia. Judy is a past recipient of the Cumberland College Excellence in Teaching Award. She continues to teach into the undergraduate and graduate program at the University and supervises undergraduate and master’s level students.
